Common Data Environment

BIM-and^® is also a “Common Data Environment” where any document can be attached to an element or a group of elements. These documents can be searched, processed and distributed. Advantages of the CDE implementation in BIM-and® are:

• You can attach documents at any level in the IFC hierarchy

• Assignments of any type of data including

  • PDF files
  • General documents

• Registered file types can be viewed immediately.

• the “History” feature is implemented for all types of documents

• Access to documents is controlled of the “User Rights Management” feature!

  • Every user can only see those documents which have been made accessible for him/her

• At any time, documents can be downloaded by BIM-and^®

• Users can run a direct search for documents.

• Models can be checked for the availability of documents and proper assignments
